📚 How the OSSD Program Works

The OSSD is a comprehensive and rigorous program based on a credit system. To earn the diploma, students must complete the following requirements:

  • Earn 30 Credits: Students must complete 18 compulsory credits in core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and History, and 12 optional credits that allow them to explore their interests and strengths.

  • Pass the Literacy Requirement: Students must demonstrate literacy skills by passing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) or by completing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OLC4O).

  • Complete 40 Hours of Community Involvement: Students engage with their communities through a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer service.
